TOKYO, November 27, 2018— UrDoc (Office: Daikanyama, Tokyo, Founder: Kazunari Karahashi), an online platform providing multilingual medical consulting services, today announced its participation in Batch Two of “Insurtech Acceleration Program powered by Plug and Play Japan KK (PnP Japan, Japan office: Shibuya, Tokyo, Representative: Phillip Vincent).” Out of 824 companies that applied, UrDoc, as one of 59 startups, was chosen to join the 3-month program starting from December 2018.
According to PnP Japan, the acceleration program is one of its major annual programs featuring innovations brought to traditional industries. 59 startups, domestic and overseas, were selected for Batch Two from four verticals (IoT, Fintech, Insurtech and Mobility). The passing rate of Batch Two was 7%, which dipped slightly from the previous 8% (PnP Japan, 2018).
At Batch Two, UrDoc, being one of the chosen startups in Insurtech, will receive mentorship and collaborate with 21 large corporate partners. Moreover, UrDoc may have the opportunity to present its business at PnP headquarters in Silicon Valley to a variety of global audiences after graduating from Batch Two.
By utilizing the resources provided in the program, UrDoc is expected to further develop its current services, and eventually grow into a global provider of one-stop healthcare solutions for users from around the world.

Urdoc connects foreign visitors with a network of healthcare professionals based in Japan, providing multilingual medical consulting services through its application.
